Has anyone experienced severe side effects from Quinapril 20mg Tablets for high blood pressure?
I was recently prescribed Quinapril 20mg Tablets to manage my high blood pressure. I've been doing some research and while most people seem to have no issues, it's the severe side effects that I am most worried about. I have a friend who had a severe allergic reaction to another medication and it has left me a bit paranoid. I am also interested in hearing from others who have experienced side effects from these tablets and how they managed them. I am also curious about how this medication affects those with existing liver and/or kidney problems especially because my mother has a kidney condition and I just want to be prepared for anything. I know that everyone is different, but I think it would be helpful to know what others have experienced. Is anyone else on this medication or has it helped them?

I developed an allergic reaction, it was scary. I had swelling in my throat and trouble breathing. It was no joke. I ended up in the ER, and they switched me to a different medication immediately.
My friend had this happen to her but it was a different brand of blood pressure medication. Her doctor was quick to help her. I think the most important thing is to communicate with your doctor.
I've been on Quinapril for a few months now, and I haven't experienced any severe side effects. Just a bit of dizziness sometimes, but nothing I can't handle. It's definitely helped with my blood pressure, though!
I haven't had any issues with it, but I had a friend who got really bad nausea. She couldn't keep any food down for days but her doctor told her to stay hydrated and monitored her closely until it passed.
I know people who have had kidney problems from it. If you have any pre-existing conditions, definitely talk to your doctor about it. Very scary stuff!
