Has anyone experienced severe side effects from Sodium Chloride 0.9% Injection?
I've been getting Sodium Chloride 0.9% Injection (normal saline) IVs regularly due to dehydration issues. Recently, I've started noticing some concerning symptoms like muscle cramps and dizziness. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced these side effects. My doctor didn't seem too concerned but I'm worried. What are your experiences with this treatment?

I work in a hospital and have seen patients react badly to normal saline. It's rare, but it happens. Always better to be cautious and talk to your doctor about changing IV fluids if your body doesn't seem to like it. Upvotes 30
Muscle cramps and dizziness could be signs of electrolyte imbalance. Definitely worth bringing up to your doctor again. I had similar issues and they adjusted my electrolyte levels, 25
