I've been prescribed Tagamet 800mg Tablets for my acid reflux and have been taking them for about a week now. I've read about the potential side effects, and while I'm hoping to avoid them. I'm mostly curious about the serious ones like hallucinations or liver problems. Has anyone here experienced any of the urgent side effects listed, and how did you handle it? Does anyone have tips on how to minimize side effects, or is it just a matter of hoping for the best?

I've noticed some confusion and mood swings when I first started taking Tagamet. It was pretty scary, and I had to stop taking it. I think it's better to try different medications if you notice any of these side effects.

I've been on this stuff for months and haven't had any issues. But I did notice some breast tenderness, which was weird. I guess that's one of the side effects. I'd rather deal with that than the acid burning a hole in my stomach though.

Honestly, I think the benefits outweigh the risks for most people. Just be aware of the signs and act quickly if you notice anything weird. My mom took this stuff for years and never had a problem.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the idea of hallucinating because of a pill is pretty hilarious. Like, what kind of trip would that even be? Not worth it, though. Stick to the mushrooms if you're into that sort of thing.

I've had absolutely no issues with Tagamet. It's been a lifesaver for my GERD. But I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for those urinary or skin signs now. Never can be too careful.

I switched to Prilosec after reading about some of these side effects. No regrets so far. Why mess around with liver problems or hallucinations? Better safe than sorry.

I was on Tagamet for a while and never had any serious side effects. Just the occasional headache, but nothing too bad. I guess I was lucky to avoid the worse ones. But keep an eye out for those allergic reactions. Better to be safe.

I think the key is to take it with food and not lay down right after. That helped me avoid any major issues. But if you start feeling confused or agitated, definitely get to a doctor ASAP.

I had a friend who took Tagamet and ended up with some crazy hallucinations. Scared the hell out of him. He had to stop taking it right away. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about alternatives?

I had some stomach pain and dark urine after taking Tagamet. Turns out it was a sign of liver problems. Scared me straight, and I never touched the stuff again. Listen to your body, man.
