I was prescribed Verapamil 120mg ER Capsules to help manage my high blood pressure and angina. I've read about the potential side effects, and while most seem manageable, the urgent ones are scary. Has anyone else taken this medication and dealt with any of the severe side effects like allergic reactions or liver problems? I'm really looking for some insights or advice on what to expect or watch out for. My doctor assured me that these side effects are rare, but I can't help but worry. Have any of you experienced something similar or have any bad experiences with this medication?

My mom took Verapamil and had no problems at all. She said it really helped control her blood pressure. Fingers crossed you have the same experience!

I switched to a different medication because Verapamil made my heart feel like it was skipping a beat. Creepy. The new one seems to work just as well without the weirdness.

I've heard that constipation is a common issue with this medication. Maybe consider taking some fiber supplements to help with that if you do have problems.

I've been on Verapamil for a few months now, and I haven't had any issues so far. Just some mild dizziness occasionally, but nothing serious. You should be fine, but definitely keep an eye out for those rare side effects.

My husband had a bad reaction to this medication a few years ago. He had a strange rash and some chest tightness. Immediate trip to the ER. I'd be extra cautious and maybe keep some Benedryl handy just in case.

I had a friend who took Verapamil and experienced some chest tightness, but it turned out to be unrelated to the medication. Still, it's good to be cautious. Make sure you have your doctor's contact info handy just in case.
