I was recently prescribed Nicardipine 20mg/200ml IV for high blood pressure, and I'm a bit anxious about potential side effects. The doctor mentioned it could cause dizziness, fatigue, and flushing, but I'm more concerned about the severe side effects like allergic reactions and chest pain. Has anyone here had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, especially if you've dealt with any of the more serious side effects. How did you manage them? Were there any tips or tricks that helped you cope? Also, how long did it take for the side effects to subside? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Felt like my veins were on fire. Literally. Nurse had to stop it and switch to another IV line, and I was done with that shit after that.

My partner was on this, and they had a pretty rough time with it. Lots of dizziness and fatigue, but no serious side effects. The doc said it was a common reaction and to just take it easy.

I had a mild reaction to Nicardipine, mostly just a headache and some nausea. My doctor said it's common and to just take it easy, avoid large meals, and drink plenty of water. It worked fine for me.

My mom was on this and she had major swelling in her legs. It was so scary. The doctor had to change her medication to something else.

Scared to have children after I heard about 1 in 5000 people can have bad reactions. Is IV hydrocortisone the treatment option?

What were your blood pressure readings before and after the medication? I'm curious to see how effective it was for you.
