Has Anyone Experienced Weight Gain on Zoloft 25mg? My Journey So Far
I've been on Zoloft 25mg for about a month now, and I've noticed some significant weight gain. I'm not sure if it's the medication or just my new sedentary lifestyle due to my depression. Has anyone else experienced this? I'd love to hear your stories and any tips you have for managing weight while on Zoloft. Sertraline has definitely helped with my anxiety, but I'm a bit concerned about the weight gain. Any advice on how to talk to my doctor about this?

I had the opposite problem—I lost weight! But I've heard that weight gain is more common. Just keep an eye on it and talk to your doc if it gets out of hand.
How do you know it’s the Zoloft and not something else? Anyway, I’ve been on it for years and haven’t gained any weight. I did notice some issues with libido, though.
I tried to exercise more and eat less, but it didn't help at all. I ended up switching to Prozac and the weight gain stopped.
Weight gain is just one of the side effects we have to monitor. Talk to your doctor and consider going down in dose. I went from 25mg to 12.5mg and it helped a lot.
I gained like 15 pounds in the first month. I was devastated. But then I realized that the depression was making me eat like crap. Once I got control of my eating, the weight came off. Keep tracking what you eat and you’ll be fine,
I gained some weight at first, but it leveled out after a few months. Make sure you're eating right and exercising regularly. It's a combination of the meds and the depression talking you out of moving.
You need to give it more time. The first few weeks are usually the hardest. Stick with it and see how you feel in a month. If it's still a problem, then talk to your doctor.
