I was recently prescribed Ofev 100mg capsules for my idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis IPF. The doctor explained that it works by blocking certain signals to slow down lung scarring. I've seen the list of possible side effects, and it's quite overwhelming – especially the urgent ones like liver problems or severe bleeding. I'd love to hear from others who have been on this medication. What were your experiences like? Did you encounter any of the serious side effects, and if so, how did you handle them? I'm particularly concerned about the more common side effects, like stomach pain or diarrhea, and how they impacted your daily life. Any tips on managing these issues would be greatly appreciated. I think it's important to share our experiences so we can support each other through this challenging journey.

Ofev saved my life. I was diagnosed with IPF about two years ago and was given Ofev as a treatment option. It’s been a rollercoaster, but I’m grateful for every day I have. The side effects are tough, especially the stomach issues and fatigue. But there are ways to manage it.

I had a pretty rough time with Ofev. The diarrhea was so bad that I couldn’t leave the house. I also developed a UTI, which was scary. But I talked to my doctor and we managed to get it under control with antibiotics.

Has anyone else had issues with rash or hives?

I switched from Esbrei to Ofev. The side effects from Esbrei were worse, so I'm relieved to have made the change. I'm now just dealing with some stomach discomfort, but it's manageable.

I had a bad allergic reaction to Ofev. I guess it works differently for everyone. I switched to a different medication, and I'm much better now. Just be aware that it can happen.

I was really scared when I first started Ofev, but my doctor assured me that the serious side effects are rare. I've been on it for six months now and haven't had any major issues.
