I'm scheduled for surgery soon and my doctor mentioned they'll be using Isosulfan Blue to help identify lymph nodes. I've read about the potential side effects, especially the allergic reactions. Has anyone here had experience with this dye? I'm curious to know how common or rare these reactions are and what the experience was like. Also, how long did the blue-green skin color change last? I'm a bit anxious about it. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I had this done a few years ago and didn't experience any issues. The blue-green skin color change was temporary and faded within a day.

My friend had a bad reaction to it. Blue-green skin color change, slight itching, and swelling. But they got treated quickly and were okay. Just be aware and let your doctor know if anything feels off. It's really important to communicate during surgery.

I had no side effects from the Isosulfan Blue. The only thing I noticed was the blue urine, which was a bit shocking at first but totally harmless. The surgical team explained everything clearly. Just be sure to ask any questions you have before the procedure so you know what to expect.

I had a similar experience during my surgery. The dye turned my urine blue for a day, and that was it. No allergies or other issues. Just communicate with your medical team; they're there to help you.

I went through this during surgery and my skin turned blue green. It was a bit scary at first, but the nurse reassured me it was normal. It went away after a day. Just stay calm and follow the doctor's instructions. They know what they're doing, and it's a common procedure.

Sounds scary but common. Just be prepared and trust the medical professionals. They know what they are doing. Good luck with your surgery! The blue urine? Just weird, but not dangerous.

I had no issues with it either. The blue urine was weird, but otherwise, no big deal. Just keep your doctor in the loop if you feel anything unusual.

I’m a nurse and have seen a few patients with this dye used - most people are fine, but one patient did have a mild allergic reaction. It was managed promptly, and they were okay. Just be sure to communicate any allergies you have to your surgical team.

I was injected with Isosulfan Blue during my breast cancer surgery. It was a smooth experience with no side effects at all. The dye just turned my urine blue for a day, which was weird but harmless. Make sure to stay calm and trust your medical team. They know what they're doing.
