I have been prescribed Onureg 300mg Tablets to help prevent my acute myeloid leukemia (AML) from coming back. The doctor said this drug should help keep my cancer at bay but mentioned some pretty serious side effects. I have read that Onureg can cause allergic reactions, infections, bleeding, chest pain, and shortness of breath if you notice such symptoms. Also, even other side effects like constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, and joint pain can be quite uncomfortable. If you have any experience with this medication, I would really appreciate your insights and advice on how to manage the possible side effects.

I've read horror stories about chest pain and shortness of breath. If you're feeling that, definitely hit the ER. My experience was mild, so I ended up on a different regimen that was less harsh.

I had some terrible constipation, but my doc put me on some stool softeners, and it all went away. Also, keep track of your blood counts at home if you can

It was a rough start for me, but once my body adjusted, I was good to go. But I had to fight the fatigue and other issues during the initial days. Try to stay patient.

Onureg is a blessing in disguise. My doctor has me on a strict regimen of supplements and close monitoring. I've been feeling ok so far. Just don't skip your check-ups!

Just remember everyone is different. I didn’t have any serious issues with Onureg, but a friend of mine had to stop because of bleeding issues. Don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself if something doesn’t feel right.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but I'm glad this community can help. I had a few scary moments with fever and chills, so I called my doctor right away. Turns out, it was just a mild infection that we could treat with antibiotics. Be proactive about side effects, so you can quickly address any issues.

I've been on Onureg for a few months now, and while it's been tough, it's manageable. I experienced some constipation and fatigue, but my doctor helped me adjust my diet and stay hydrated, which made a big difference. Just make sure to communicate openly with your healthcare team.
