Has anyone had any serious side effects from using Bepotastine 1.5% Opthalmic Drops?
I've been using Bepotastine 1.5% Opth Drops for the past few weeks to relief my itchy eyes, and so far it's been working great. But I was wondering if anyone else has experienced any serious side effects from this medication. The list of possible side effects is a bit worrying, especially the urgent ones. I haven't had any issues, but I know everyone reacts differently to medications. Has anyone had any severe reactions or allergic responses? Also, how often does everyone use this? I've been using it twice a day, but I'm not sure if that's too much. Also, how long does it usually take for the drops to start working? Thanks for any input!

I've only had a headache after using these drops. Is this normal? Thoughts on this? I don't want to discontinue using them because they work really well, but the headaches are annoying.
I had a weird taste in my mouth for a few days after I started using them, but it went away. I also had a bit of nose and throat irritation. No big deal, but you can't really expect a medication like this to have no side effects.
Did anyone else notice a burning sensation when they first started using the drops? It went away after a few weeks for me.
I had a severe allergic reaction to these drops. My eyes were burning and I had this tight feeling in my chest. I went to the ER and they said it was an allergic reaction. So be careful and if you experience any of these symptoms, go to the hospital right away. Also, I'm a pharmacist, so trust me on this one.
I started using these drops last month and haven't had any issues at all. I use them twice a day and they've really helped with my itchy eyes.
It's funny how we all react differently. I've used these before and had no side effects. Just the occasional itching around my eyes. Nothing that stopped me from using them. No taste in my mouth, nothing. It's a miracle drug for me.
I've been using these drops for a year now and they've been a lifesaver. I have pretty bad allergies and these drops have made my life so much easier. I haven't had any side effects, thankfully. I use them as needed, not every day. I keep them in the fridge, too. Makes the eye drops even more soothing.
I've only used them a few times and had some severe irritation and eye pain. Stopped using them immediately. I'd rather deal with the itching than risk my eyesight.
Ditto on the bad taste in the mouth. I was cringing for a few days. But it was worth it. So much better than constantly itching my eyes.
I'm curious why your doctor prescribed you this medication. I've had pretty bad allergies and my doctor put me on a different ointment. I've had almost no side effects. If your eyes are bothering you, then you may want to talk to your doctor about it.
