I've been taking K-Pax Professional Strength Tablets for a few weeks now, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced any side effects. The bottle says they can cause upset stomach and vomiting, but what are the odds? I've also noticed that some people might have more serious reactions. I'm allergic to peanuts, so I'm wondering if I should take the seal off the K-Pax bottle to see if it contains iron. I don't want to risk going into anaphylaxis because of a side effect. Could this happen?
I don't think you would go into anaphylaxis without any of the symptoms. The label should state that it contains iron. You might have to ask the pharmacist. If you do have a reaction, it will be in the form of an allergic reaction. The symptoms of an allergic reaction are listed in the post. K-Pax should be safe for people with peanut allergies. That should be a relief.
I've been taking them for a month and haven't noticed any side effects.
I stopped taking them because they gave me terrible stomach cramps. I didn't know iron could cause that. I thought it was just vitamins!
If you get any of the serious side effects listed, like trouble breathing or swelling of the face, you need to go to the ER. Not your doctor, or you'll die. I had a really bad reaction to a medication once, and I know. It's scary. I didn't know it was a side effect, because the doctor didn't know enough.
Same! I had diarrhea and vomiting. I thought I was going to die. I went to the doctor and she said it was because of the iron in the vitamins. So watch out for that!
I'm so glad I came across this thread. I didn't even know these side effects were a possibility. I'm going to make sure to avoid the tablets with iron. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences!
The side effects sound pretty nasty. Anyone had black, tarry stools? That sounds horrifying.
