Has anyone had experience with Brevibloc 10mg/ml Sdv Inj (Esmolol) for rapid heart rate control?
I'm curious about the real-life experiences and effectiveness of Brevibloc 10mg/ml Sdv Inj (Esmolol). I understand it's used to quickly slow down the heart rate or lower blood pressure in emergencies or during surgery. I'd love to hear from anyone who has been administered this medication or has administered it to patients - how well does it work? How quickly do the effects wear off? Also, what are the most common side effects you've encountered? I’ve read about some of the serious side effects, and I’m hoping to get some insight from those who have first-hand experience with this medication.

I’ve used esmolol a couple of times in the ICU. The biggest challenge was managing tissue damage at the injection site. Always make sure the IV is in good condition before administering.
I had to administer this last week. The patient had a severe allergic reaction, so we had to stop the infusion immediately. Definitely something to be aware of.
I've seen esmolol used in the ER a few times. It's incredibly effective for rapid heart rate control, and the effects do wear off quickly once the infusion stops. The patient needs close monitoring, though; we did see some bradycardia cases.
Never heard of it before, but it sounds intense! Thanks for sharing your experiences, everyone.
I've heard Brevibloc has some serious side effects. Scary stuff. Has anyone had a really bad experience with it?
I've only seen it used in surgery so far. The anesthesiologist loves it for controlling heart rate during procedures. Quick and effective!
