I've recently been prescribed Cuvitru 1gm/5ml Sol For Inj, 5ml for my immune system issues. It's made from human blood plasma and contains antibodies to help fight infections. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else used this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, good or bad. How did you handle any side effects? What did your doctor say about them? Also, I'm curious to know how often you need to get the injections and how it's administered. Thanks in advance for any insights!

I heard about this medicine in a TV ad. It sounds really intense. Is it as bad as it sounds?

I had a friend who had a really bad reaction to an antibody medication. She ended up in the hospital with severe allergic symptoms. It's scary stuff. I think I'd be really anxious about trying it, but everyone's different.

I've been on Cuvitru for about six months now. The injections are every four weeks, and they're given intravenously. The first few times were a bit rough, with some irritation at the injection site. I also got some muscle spasms and a bit of a headache, but nothing major. Now I'm pretty used to it. My doctor said some people experience more severe side effects, so I keep an eye out for those. I have a few friends with immune issues so hopefully they can relate. It's also given me peace of mind knowing I have that extra protection.

The IV injections aren't fun, but they're bearable. The worst part is the preparation—I have to fast for a few hours before the injection, which always messes up my mealtime planning. I also experienced some changes in speech and vision at one point, which really threw me off. My doctor took a bunch of tests and lowered the dose which seemed to help.
