I've been prescribed Foscarnet 24mg/ml Injection for a severe CMV infection. The doctor assured me it's effective, but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? How was your experience? What were the side effects like? And how did you manage them?

I was on Foscarnet for a while. It was rough, but it worked. The injection site reactions were annoying, but the worst part was the kidney issues. Make sure you stay hydrated and keep an eye on your urine output.

I had a lot of anxiety and fatigue on Foscarnet. It was tough, but I got through it. Drink lots of water and keep a close eye on your symptoms. Good luck!

Just a heads up, if you have a history of heart problems, talk to your doctor. The prolonged QT interval can be scary. I had to switch to something else because of it.

I was fine. I didn't have any of the serious side effects, just some sweating and a headache. But I did have a friend who had to stop treatment due to cardiac issues. Everyone reacts differently, so be careful.

I've heard that low white blood cell counts are a serious issue with this drug. Anyone else experience that?

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I was on it for a few months and the worst part was the injection site reactions. They were painful and would swell. I had to use a lot of ice packs to manage it.

I had a bad allergic reaction to Foscarnet. It was scary. I had to be hospitalized for a few days after my first dose. Make sure you're in a medical setting when you get it.

So many side effects. I had diarrhea, stomach pain, and muscle stiffness. But what really got me was the shortness of breath. It was like I couldn't catch my breath. I had to stop the medication and switch to something else. Just be careful and listen to your body.

This stuff is no joke. I had some pretty bad fluid and electrolyte issues. I felt like I was constantly dizzy and dehydrated. And the seizures... It was hellish, but my doctor said it was better than the alternative.
