I was recently prescribed Hyoscyamine 0.125mg Tablets for my irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The medication is supposed to relax the muscles in my stomach and intestines, and reduce the amount of acid and other fluids my body produces. I've read the potential side effects and they are quite concerning. Has anyone else tried this medication? If so, how did you respond to it? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any uncommon side effects or unexpected benefits. I'd also really appreciate any suggestions for managing the common side effects like dizziness, dry mouth, and constipation.

I had a bad experience with this medication. I developed a severe rash and had trouble breathing. I had to go to the ER and they told me it was an allergic reaction. If you're considering this drug, please be cautious and have a rescue inhaler just in case! If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction like swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat, seek immediate medical attention.

I was really hesitant to try Hyoscyamine because of the potential side effects, but my gastroenterologist assured me that the benefits would outweigh the risks. She also advised me to avoid certain foods and drinks that could exacerbate my IBS symptoms. I've been on the medication for about 2 months now, and I've noticed a significant improvement in my digestive health. I've had some mild constipation, but it's manageable. If you're considering this medication, I would recommend talking to your doctor and weighing the pros and cons. I've also found that keeping a food diary has helped me identify any potential triggers for my IBS symptoms, and it's been a great tool for managing my condition over all. I hope this helps, and I'm glad I found this thread. Keep us updated on what your doctor says.

I've been on Hyoscyamine for about 3 months now and it's been a lifesaver for my IBS. My doctor prescribed it to me after trying a number of other medications. The dry mouth is annoying, but I've found that sugar-free gum helps a lot. I also make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. I didn't experience any of the severe side effects, but I did have some mild dizziness at first. Luckily, that went away after a few days. If you're considering this medication, I would recommend giving it a try and seeing how your body responds. Just be sure to monitor your symptoms closely and report any concerns to your doctor. Always remember people react differently to medications, and it might work very well for you. Good luck!

Be careful with this stuff. I had some weird hallucinations.

I've been on this medication for a while, and while it does help with my digestive issues, I've noticed some changes in my vision. Sometimes things are a bit blurry, and I get dry eye syndrome. I've started using lubricating eye drops, and that seems to help. I haven't experienced any of the more serious side effects, but I make sure to stay in close contact with my doctor just in case. If you have changes in eyesight, eye pain, or severe eye irritation, it's important to seek medical attention right away. I'm also interested in hearing from others about managing the side effects, so thanks for starting this thread!

Dry mouth is the worst. I carry around a water bottle everywhere now.

Does it help with gas? So sick of the bloating.

I've heard horror stories about this drug.
