Has anyone had experience with Increlex (40mg/4ml) for severe primary IGF-1 deficiency?
My daughter was recently diagnosed with severe primary IGF-1 deficiency and we're considering Increlex as a treatment. It's been difficult to find real-life experiences from other parents who have gone through this. Has anyone used Increlex (40mg/4ml) to treat a similar condition? What were your experiences with side effects, and was it effective for your child's growth? Any advice, precautions, or tips would be greatly appreciated. We're trying to make an informed decision and would like to hear from others who have been in a similar situation.

We started Increlex for my son a year ago, and it’s made a noticeable difference in his growth. As for side effects, it was a bit scary at first, but we managed. Mostly just some irritation at the injection site, but nothing serious.
Just remember, every child is different. What works for one might not work for another. Stick with the doctor's recommendations as best you can.
I'm not a fan of this medication tbh. My kid had terrible reactions. Constant dizziness and even seizures. We switched to another treatment altogether.
We're on a waiting list for another treatment option that is supposed to be more effective and have less side effects
My biggest concern is the long term effects. Any idea if there are any studies that can shed light on this?
It's a tough call. My daughter's doctor recommended it, and after a lot of thought, we decided to go for it. So far, she's doing well, but we're keeping a close eye on any side effects that could pop up.
Make sure your child is monitored regularly and have a plan for immediate action if any serious side effects show up. Our pediatrician was very thorough about this and it gave us peace of mind.
If anyone could tell me what the side effects look like compared to other medications, it would help. I'm trying to weigh all the options.
