I've been prescribed Thiamine 100mg/ml Injections, 2ml due to some vitamin deficiencies. The doctor mentioned it was necessary, but I'm curious about the experience of others. How does the injection feel? Side effects are usually manageable but what can I expect? I know thiamine is crucial for turning food into energy, especially within the brain, but what is it like to receive these injections? What sort of diet changes did others make besides the injections?

The worst part for me was the injection site irritation. Make sure to keep it clean and follow the aftercare instructions closely.

Wow, I had no idea thiamine injections were a thing. My doctor only ever mentioned oral supplements. Definitely worth looking into if you have any issues with absorption.

I had a friend who was in the hospital for a while and they received daily injections. He had a bad reaction once. It's rare, but keep an eye out for symptoms like rash, tightness in the chest, or sudden weakness.

I had these injections for a while due to a poor diet and alcohol use. They were a pain, no pun intended, but necessary. The feeling of the injection is uncomfortable, but it’s bearable. Mostly it just feels like a tiny prick. The side effects were minimal, but I did experience some restlessness and excessive sweating. It was mainly worth it because it helped me regain my energy and improve my overall health. Make sure to take it easy and avoid alcohol for the best results.

The injections themselves were easy, but the diet changes were harder. Make sure you have a plan for that. I'd also recommend keeping a food diary. My doctor said it helps track progress and adjusts the treatment plan if needed.

I've seen these used a lot in situations of acute alcohol withdrawal. If your deficiency is related to that, it can be a lifesaver. The benefits far outweigh the discomfort.

Has anyone experienced any allergic reactions? That's what scares me the most. I've got a history of allergies and I'm nervous about the injection.

I'm really glad you asked this. I was prescribed IV thiamine as well, and the hospital didn't give me a ton of details on how it would feel or what to expect. It really helps to hear others' experiences! One thing I'll add is that the benefits were noticeable within a few days. Suddenly, I had more energy and my brain felt clearer. Be sure to do some research on the benefits of B vitamins too.
