I've been prescribed Tobramycin 1.2gm Inj 1 Vial for a serious bacterial infection that's resistant to other antibiotics. I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the more severe ones. Has anyone had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, good or bad. Also, any tips on managing the side effects would be greatly appreciated. How did you handle things like dizziness, hearing changes etc? My doctor didn't give me a ton of info, so I'd like to know from people that have been through it. Thanks in advance!

I had to take this for a while, and I got really bad diarrhea. Make sure you have something to stop that if you get it. I ended up in the ER and had to get treated for dehydration.

I felt so weak when I took this and couldn't do anything for a few days. So be prepared for that.

My cousin took this and was fine! I think everyone's experience can be different, but it's always good to be prepared.

OMG, and if you get dizzy, just sit down and take a breather. It'll pass. Don't try to tough it out.

I had a bad rash while on this medication. The medical team said it's rare but possible. If you do get this rash, stop taking it IMMEDIATELY and gets medical help. And be prepared for your doctor to switch you to something else.

I didn't have any problems with it, but I know people who did. I think it just depends on the person. If you can, get an antibiotic that's not given as an injection and take that instead. It's easier to deal with.

Be really careful with the kidney issues. I know someone who had to stop taking it because of that.

I had a bad reaction to this stuff. I woke up one night and my face was swollen and I could barely breathe. Scariest night of my life. Be ready to call 911 if you feel like you're having an allergic reaction.

I've had to take this before, and it was tough, but it did the job. The injection site can be painful, so make sure to switch arms/legs if you can. Also, drink plenty of water to help with the kidney stuff.

My doctor told me to call right away if I started feeling dizzy or weak. Turns out, that was good advice. I had to stop taking it early because of some weird muscle spasms.
