Has anyone had experience with Tobramycin 40mg/ml Injection 25x2ml for serious bacterial infections?
I was recently prescribed Tobramycin 40mg/ml Injection 25x2ml for a severe bacterial infection affecting my lungs. I've read about the serious side effects, including kidney problems and hearing issues, and I'm a bit nervous. My doctor is monitoring me closely, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has gone through this. How was your experience? Did you have any complications, and how did you manage them? Also, is there anything specific I should be looking out for beyond the listed side effects? Thanks in advance for any insights!

I've had to take this for two infections now and both times my kidney function got messed up after the course. I had to have regular checkups to get back to normal. Scary stuff.
Serious question: what about the risk of C. diff? I've heard horror stories about that. Does anyone have any experience with it in relation to this medication?
My sister had to take this for a severe skin infection. She had some bad nausea and vomiting, but her doctor managed it with additional medicines. Just make sure you stay hydrated and talk to your doctor if things get rough.
I used this for a severe lung infection and was scared out of my mind with the side effects. Mine were mild, but everyone is different. The injection site was super sore, but it was manageable. Best of luck!
I'm a nurse, and I've seen patients use this for bone infections. The key is monitoring renally and hearing. The side effects can be nasty, but managing them with your doctor's help can make the process smoother.
My dad had to take it after a bad fall. I wish the taste was not so bad. No issues with side effects, but the taste was awful. You'd think something so strong would have a better taste!
I've had to use this medication a few times due to cystic fibrosis. Definitely keep an eye on your kidney function and hearing tests. I had some mild dizziness, but it went away after a few days. Hang in there!
I had to take this for a nasty bone infection. The worst part was the muscle weakness and fatigue. It was tough, but I got through it. Just take it one day at a time and listen to your body.
