I've been prescribed Ceclor 250mg/5ml Susp 150ml for a persistent ear infection and I'm worried about the potential side effects. The leaflet lists some serious side effects like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, seizures, and severe allergic reactions. Has anyone had any bad experiences with this medication? Are the common side effects (like diarrhea and headache) manageable? I had a bad reaction to Amoxicillin years ago, so I'm a bit nervous. Is this antibiotic worth the risk, or should I ask my doctor for an alternative?

I've known people who had amazing reactions to this. Your body is unique though and may not respond the same way. Keep communicating with your doctor and know this will probably be the best option. Cephalosporins (like Ceclor) are really effective against a broad range of bacteria so it's no surprise they got prescribed.

I've been on Ceclor a few times and the diarrhea was the worst part. It was manageable with some Imodium, but it was a hassle. The good news is, the infection cleared up quickly. Just make sure to stay hydrated.

Stevens-Johnson syndrome is super rare but it's something to keep in the back of your mind. If you notice any strange skin reactions, get to a doctor ASAP. Better safe than sorry! Have you checked WebMD?

If you're worried, ask your doctor about alternatives. There are plenty of other antibiotics out there. I just got off Levaquin and felt like the flu afterwards. Fuuuuuck.

Cephalosporins are really important for combating bacterial infections and it's great that doctors have the option for prescriptions. I believe this is the best option. Doctor, what if the infection gets worse.

I had a really bad reaction to Ceclor. I developed hives and had trouble breathing. I had to go to the ER and they told me I'm allergic to it. Be careful and monitor your symptoms closely.

I had a friend who ended up in the hospital with C. diff after taking Ceclor. It's scary stuff. I didn't know Ceclor could do this, but I'm so happy to have a place on reddit to find out this stuff.

I had a really bad headache for the first few days I was on it but it went away. It was better than dealing with the infection for sure. IBS is hell on Ceclor though.

I wish doctors would be more open about the risks of these meds. They always say 'it's rare, it's fine' but when it happens, it's terrifying. Maybe it's just the doctor you have though, mine is excellent.

I took Ceclor for a lung infection and it was fine. No side effects at all. Don't worry too much, it should be ok.
