I've been prescribed Accolate 20mg tablets to help manage my asthma. It seems to work well for preventing attacks, but I've heard some scary things about potential side effects, like liver problems and allergic reactions. Have any of you had any experiences with this drug? Were the side effects manageable, or did you have to stop taking it?

I had to stop taking Accolate because it made me so tired and my body was getting really heavy, like I was retaining water. I felt really crappy, but I think everyone is different so it might not be the same for you! Side effects suck, but it's worth mentioning to your doc, so you can both make an informed decision on how to proceed.

I had some stomach issues at first but they went away after a few weeks. I think it's worth giving it a shot, but keep an eye on how you feel. If something doesn't seem right, don't hesitate to call your doctor. Accolate can cause liver problems, so be vigilant about any symptoms like yellow skin or dark urine, not sure if that would happen to me but worth keeping an eye on.

I switched to Accolate from another asthma med and noticed a huge difference in my breathing. The only side effect I got was a bit of a headache, but it was manageable.

I've been on Accolate for a few months now and haven't had any issues. It's been a great help with my asthma. Definitely talk to your doctor if you have any concerns, though. Side effects can vary a lot from person to person.
