I was prescribed Cleocin 300mg/2ml Inj, 2ml for a serious bacterial infection, and I'm wondering if anyone else has had any severe side effects from using this medication. I've read about some serious side effects like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, kidney problems, and severe allergic reactions. So far, I've only experienced some mild stomach upset, but I'm worried about the potential for more serious issues. I'd love to hear about anyone's experiences with this drug, especially how they dealt with any severe side effects. What symptoms should I really be on the lookout for, and how can I best prevent or manage them? Does anyone have tips for dealing with the injection site pain? Also how do I know if I'm reacting badly to it?

I got really bad hives and difficulty breathing after my first injection. Turns out I was allergic. Scary stuff. Ended up in the ER and had to switch to a different antibiotic.

I had Cleocin for a severe infection a few years back. I was terrified of the side effects, but thankfully, I only got some mild diarrhea. I was very careful with my diet and stayed hydrated. The worst part was the injection site pain, but it went away after a few days. Definitely follow your doctor's advice and report any unusual symptoms right away.

My friend had gastrointestinal issues but she managed them just by eating small, frequent meals. It was a pain in the butt but it really helped. And she avoided dairy products, but it's good to follow your doctor's advice. And be careful about this drug affecting your kidneys. Also, don't forget to report any side effects to the FDA or your doctor.

Severe skin reactions can happen. I know someone who got Stevens-Johnson syndrome from a different drug, and it was awful. Seek medical attention right away if you notice any red, swollen, or peeling skin and other symptoms like that. It starts off like a bad sunburn, and then it gets worse. Don't mess around with this.

I took this drug twice a day and the pain was horrible! But my doctor said the symptoms can be managed and that they were worth it if the infection was serious. But be aware of the kidney problems. I experienced changes in urine output, and I immediately called my doctor.

I had a fever and chills after my third dose. It was really scary, but I called my doctor right away, and they switched me to a different antibiotic. So I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
