I'm currently on Metronidazole 500mg/100ml IV for a severe infection, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced significant side effects from this treatment. I've been reading about the potential for severe reactions, including nervous system problems and allergic reactions. If anyone has had this medication and can share their experience, it would be greatly appreciated. I'd also love to hear about any tips for managing side effects or advice on what to look out for. Thanks!

I had a bad experience with it as well! I ended up with a fever and chills, and my doctor said it was a common reaction. It's good to be aware of the symptoms and to stay in contact with your doctor throughout the treatment.

I had to stop taking Metronidazole because I developed a metallic taste and severe joint pain. It was unbearable.

Nausea was the worst for me. My doc said take it slow on my food intake and it helped a little. Definitely worth it if the infection is bad.

I had a really bad reaction to it - got a fever and chills, then rushed to the ER. It was scary.

Metronidazole is not messing around: I started getting confusion and headaches with it, so it's definitely not something to mess with. I would rather have a bad infection than this.

I had a minor skin rash that cleared up with some topical cream, but I had to stop the IV because of it. If you get any weird skin stuff, get it checked out ASAP.

It can cause some really bad stomach issues. I had diarrhea so bad I was on the toilet for hours. Not sure if I would want to do that again.

This stuff is awful! I had it and felt like death. But it knocked out my infection.

Metronidazole can be tough, but it's effective. If you're experiencing side effects, talk to your doctor. They might adjust the dose or switch you to something else.
