Has anyone had severe side effects from Azithromycin 200mg/5ml Susp? Horrible experience or not so bad?
Hi everyone, I was prescribed Azithromycin 200mg/5ml Susp for a bacterial infection. I started taking it yesterday and already feel some stomach issues. I'm worried about the possible side effects, especially the severe ones mentioned in the leaflet. Has anyone here had a bad experience with this medication? I want to know if I should be worried, or if these side effects are rare. Also, how do you handle the taste? It's not the best! Any tips would be appreciated!

I had some weird skin reactions but my doctor said it was unrelated. Anyway, always better to be cautious and report any issues to your doctor
I took Azithromycin a few years ago and had no issues at all. Just make sure to finish the entire course even if you feel better
I had diarrhea and stomach pain but nothing too serious. I just took some Imodium and it helped a lot. But yeah, finish the course as prescribed!
As someone who's had C. diff from antibiotics, please be aware of the signs and symptoms. It's no joke. Don't wait to get checked if you have severe, persistent diarrhea
Be careful with the taste. I found mixing it with something sweet like apple sauce helped a lot. Also, drink plenty of water to avoid stomach issues. Thank me later
I didn't have any bad side effects but my partner did. She felt nauseous and dizzy. We were in agreement that it was way worse than other antibiotics she's had before
This is a great thread. I was worried I'd be the only one with side effects. I had to stop taking it because of my severe stomach pain
I had a friend who got a severe allergic reaction. Scary stuff. If you feel anything unusual, just seek medical attention right away. Better safe than sorry
