As someone who's been using Poly-Vent IR 60-380mg Tablets for a while, I've had mixed reactions. I've found it really helps with chest congestion, especially during flu season, but the side effects have sometimes been a bit scary. Today, I started getting hives and my throat felt really tight. I don't know if it's just an allergic reaction to the medication or something else. It's got me on edge, so I wanted to see if anyone else has had any adverse reactions or if there's anything I can do to manage these side effects. I always feel like the prescription medication leaflet doesn't cover everything. It's a bit frustrating, because it's hard to find any real-life examples of what's been happening with these tablets, especially the ones that might be life-threatening. Does anyone know more about the pseudoephedrine in it making me feel more excitable at night? And what about that stuff on reporting to the FDA? How easy is that process?

Poly-Vent has helped me a lot, but I've never had any serious side effects. Everyone's different, though.

You can try switching to another medication that specifically treats your type of symptoms. It's worth talking to a healthcare provider.

I've never had hives from Poly-Vent, but I did have a lot of trouble sleeping and felt so restless. The doc told me it could be from the pseudoephedrine and to take it earlier in the day. Didn't know about reporting side effects, though. What a hassle!

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the side effects are worth it if it helps with the stuffiness. I've never had hives, though, so I don't know what that's like. Maybe just try a different medication, but always check with your doc first.

You might want to ask your doctor about switching to a different medication that doesn't have pseudoephedrine. I've had the same issue with feeling too excited and not being able to sleep. The good news is your story could really help other people who are looking for some answers.

I was on it for a week and when I stopped I felt so much better. I didn't have any serious side effects, but I just felt off.

Guaifenesin could be an issue for you, especially if you're sensitive to it. Also, some people don't know that you can report side effects like hives to the FDA. Just go to their website, fill out a form, and let them know about your experience. I did that once, and it was pretty straightforward. I'm sure it helps others.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Report it to the FDA and consider a different medication. Your doctor can help.

I've had a similar experience. I started getting hives and my throat felt really tight, and I had to stop taking them. It was super scary, and I wish I knew something about the reporting process..

Poly-Vent IR 60-380mg Tablets are definitely not for me. I took them once and now I can't stop shivering and I'm just kind of feeling... weird.
