I was prescribed Livalo 2mg after my doctor noticed my cholesterol levels were way too high. I've been taking it for about a month, and while I think it's helping, I've been getting some muscle pain, which has me worried. I read that severe muscle problems are a rare but serious side effect to report immediately. Should I be concerned? Has anyone else had similar experiences? What did you do? I'm also wondering how it's supposed to help with high levels of 'bad' cholesterol, and if it's worth sticking with if the side effects are mild. Just want to hear your thoughts.

I'm not a fan of taking medication, but I know that high cholesterol can lead to serious health problems. I think it's important to weigh the risks and benefits and make an informed decision with your doctor. I would recommend talking to your doctor about any concerns you have.

My doctor told me that muscle pain is actually a common side effect of statins, not just Livalo. It's usually mild and goes away on its own, but it's important to report it to your doctor just in case. I would definitely bring it up at your next appointment.

I've been taking Livalo for about six months now, and I've noticed a significant improvement in my cholesterol levels. I didn't experience any serious side effects, but I did have some mild muscle pain at the beginning. It went away after a few weeks. I think it's worth sticking with if your doctor says it's necessary, but you should definitely talk to them about the muscle pain. I would recommend eating a lot of oatmeal and beans.

Don't worry, I think the muscle pain is just from going to the gym too hard!

The muscle pain will go away. It’s just your body adjusting, it happened to me, I toughed it out and it went away in a month or so

My dad was on Livalo and bought a 2000 dollar electric car instead of paying the copay. He liked the car better. It was a nice side effect actually.
