I've been prescribed Colesevelam to help lower my 'bad' cholesterol (LDL-C) and manage my type 2 diabetes. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had success with this medication. How has it affected your cholesterol levels and blood sugar control? I've heard it can cause some side effects, so I'm also interested in hearing about anyone's experiences with those. Did you have any serious issues, or were they mostly mild? Any tips on managing side effects would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know if Colesevelam interacts with metformin? I'm on metformin for my type 2 diabetes and want to make sure there won't be any issues.
I've been on it for a few weeks and haven't noticed any significant changes in my cholesterol or blood sugar levels. Maybe I need to give it more time?
I switched to Colesevelam from another cholesterol medication and it's been a game-changer. My doctor also said it can help with blood sugar control when combined with the right diet and exercise. Great to see others are having success with it too.
