Has anyone had success managing epilepsy with Phenytoin 200mg ER Capsules?
I was recently prescribed Phenytoin 200mg ER Capsules to manage my epilepsy. I've been on it for a week and I'm curious to hear from others who have experience with this medication. How has it worked for you? What side effects have you encountered? I've read about some serious side effects, so I'm a bit nervous. Any tips on managing them would be much appreciated.

Be careful with this one. I had to stop taking it because of severe skin reactions. It's a serious medication with some serious side effects. Make sure to monitor closely.
I switched to this from another medication and it's been great. No more multiple doses a day. Just make sure to take it at the same time every day.
I'm curious, did your doctor also warn you about the potential for suicidal thoughts? I had a friend who had to switch meds because of that.
I've been on Phenytoin for years and it's been a game-changer. I had some issues with dizziness at first, but my doctor adjusted the dose and it's been smooth sailing since. Fingers crossed for you!
