I've been prescribed Hydrocortisone 1%/iodoquinol 1% Cream for a persistent skin condition that combines inflammation and infection. The doctor explained that hydrocortisone helps with redness, itching, and swelling, while iodoquinol fights bacterial and fungal infections. I'm curious if anyone else has used this cream and had success with it. I'm also a bit worried about the possible side effects, especially the more severe ones like allergic reactions and changes in skin color. Has anyone experienced these issues, and if so, how did you manage them? I'm looking for some practical advice and personal experiences to help me navigate this treatment.

I've been on this for a month and my skin is so much better. I’ve only had minor side effects and my doctor was happy with my progress. Keep up the routine and your skin should improve like mine did!

I had a really bad allergic reaction to this cream. Started with a rash and ended up with swelling in my throat. Scary stuff. If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, go to the ER immediately!

How often are you supposed to apply the cream? My doctor said twice a day, but I’m not sure if that’s right. Anyone else have a different schedule?

I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and while it’s helped with the inflammation, I’ve noticed some dryness and itching. I’m not sure if it’s a side effect or just part of the healing process. Anyone else experience this?

I had to switch to a different cream because of the severe burning sensation. I guess my skin was too sensitive for this one. The cream could have been hit or miss because it does not match up well with sensitive skin types. I did not know about that when starting, but now I know.

I’ve noticed that the cream seems to work better when I apply it after a warm bath. Maybe the warmth helps it absorb better. Just a thought.
