I was recently prescribed Sucralfate 1gm Tablets for treating some ulcers in my stomach. I've heard that it works by forming a protective coating over the ulcers, shielding them from stomach acid and allowing them to heal. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'm curious to know how well it worked for you and if you experienced any side effects. I've read that constipation is a common side effect, so I'm trying to prepare for that. Also, I've been instructed to take it on an empty stomach, which seems a bit challenging. Any tips on managing that? Additionally, I'm a bit concerned about the rare but severe side effects mentioned in the documentation. How likely are these, and should I be overly worried? Thanks in advance for any insights!

I took Sucralfate for a month and it was fine. Nothing to write home about, just took it and had no issues. Healed my ulcers quick.

I had a bad reaction to it. Got hives and had to stop taking it right away. Make sure to carry an EpiPen if you have allergies.

I didn't have any issues with constipation, but I did notice some weird chest tightness. Went to the ER and they said it was just anxiety, but they wanted me to switch meds just to be safe.

I had some serious stomach issues and constipation for months. I wish I had some water to drink. I just tried to avoid eating too much. For me, the constipation was not worth the healing.

I had no problems with it. It works well and I would recommend it.

My doctor prescribed the medication. It worked for me but people react differently I would talk to them about it.

I take Sucralfate every night. I always take it with a big glass of water to prevent constipation. Never had any issues with it, but I hear it's different for everyone. Always good to check with your doctor.
