I've recently been prescribed Betamethasone Dip 0.05% Ointment for my eczema. I've read the possible side effects, which are a bit scary, and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this medication. Has it worked well for you? Did you experience any of the side effects or was it an uneventful recovery? What was your skin care routine before? Are there any specific things I should be avoiding while using this ointment? Any insights or advice will be greatly appreciated, as I'm a bit nervous about starting this treatment. Thank you!

This is the only thing that has ever worked for my eczema and I've tried everything. I've been using it for years and I haven't had any side effects. My doctor said it's safe to use for long periods of time as long as I use it sparingly and don't overlap areas I've treated before.

I've used it for years but the ointment is really greasy and i really hate having to wash my hands after every application. It's especially tough during winter where my hands are already dry

I used this for my eczema and it worked but it took a long time to heal and was so greasy. I found the cream is much better, but it still takes a while to heal.

I'm on my 5th day of use and my eczema rash has not reduced in size. Also it's incredibly greasy and I'm constantly leaving a trail of ointment on whatever I touch.

When I used this, my doctor told me to moisturize after using it. It helps to seal in the medication and prevents stinging. I used simple petroleum jelly because I live in a very dry climate. Also, try to wear loose clothing because it'll become greasy

I've used Betamethasone dipropionate before for my psoriasis. It was a lifesaver. I applied it once daily for about 2 weeks. My skin was clear by my third week. No side effects, but I did avoid using it on my face.

I'm on week 3 of this ointment and I'm noticing my skin is thinning. It's weird, it's like I can see my veins in certain areas. I'll keep using it until my doc tells me to stop because my psoriasis is healing, but I'm def switching to something else when I'm done.

Might be a good idea to also consider if your diet is making your eczema worse. I was eating a ton of fast food and it was making my skin flair up. I've been avoiding it for the past year and my skin is much better.

Be careful with this stuff. I used it for a few days and ended up with some weird side effects. My face broke out in pimples all over the place and they looked like moon craters.
