I've recently been prescribed Cromolyn Sodium Inhalation Solution (20 mg/2 mL, 60 x 2 mL) to prevent asthma attacks and allergic reactions. I've used it a few times. This inhaler doesn't work as a rescue inhaler. It's a bit confusing how it works, and I am not sure how to know if it's truly effective. The doctor said to use it regularly, even when I feel good, so I'm trying to follow that advice. I've tried reading up on it, but I'm still not sure what to expect. Does anyone have experience with Cromolyn Sodium and can help me understand the process better? Any advice on managing side effects would also be appreciated.

Have you tried using a spacer with your inhaler? It can help make sure you're getting the right amount of medication. I found it made a huge difference in how effective my inhaler was.

I felt like this was weird at first, but I was able to get used to it over time. It's been a life saver for me and I am so happy that I gave it a shot.

Ain't that the truth! I remember when I started using it, I felt like I couldn't breathe at all, but I guess it's because you have to use it regularly. I was so worried at first.

Cromolyn Sodium is supposed to stabilize those mast cells in your lungs, right? I remember my doctor explaining it like that. It's different from other inhalers I've used, but it works well for me. Just make sure you're using it correctly and consistently. Be careful though, I spoke to another person who said it made the muscles in their chest tight.
