Hi everyone, I was recently prescribed Desvenlafaxine ER Succinate 50mg for my anxiety and depression. I'm not familiar with this medication and wondered if anyone has any experience with it. My doctor told me a little bit about the side effects (both urgent and common) and made it clear to seek medical help right away if I experience any of the rare, severe ones. Has anyone else had issues with side effects, and how did you manage them? I'm looking for any advice or personal stories from people who have taken this medication, especially regarding how it affected their mood and anxiety levels.

I had a really bad reaction to this med. I ended up in the ER with serotonin syndrome. My symptoms were fever, seizures, and rapid heartbeat and just some confusion and hallucinations. But honestly, I'm not sure if it was the Desvenlafaxine alone or a mix of other meds I was on at the time. I've been more careful with combo meds since then.

Wait to see how you react to it. I've tried to do a lot of research on this drug and saw that some people are taking it for more than 5 years and they're fine. But the side effects are there and you should be prepared for them. I was lucky to have had 0 side effects.

I've had great success with Desvenlafaxine. My doctor started me on 50mg and I noticed a significant improvement in my mood and anxiety levels within a few weeks. I did experience some insomnia and dizziness initially, but adjusting my dosage and taking the medication with food helped alleviate those side effects. It's been a game-changer for me overall.

I feel so much better on this than people expect me to. I took it only for a month and a half before doing a drug-free program and got off it. I didn't have side effects, but I think it helped me with the withdrawals.

I've been on this for a while and it's made a world of difference. Just make sure to stay hydrated and don't forget to drink a lot of water. It can help with dry mouth and constipation.

I started this with a lot of anxiety and had no rest. The fatigue and dizziness were manageable but I'm glad it helped my anxiety before the fatigue and dizziness went away. Now I can sleep better and don't feel like I'm changing between high and low anxiety.
