I've been on Divalproex for a few years now and it's made a huge difference in controlling my manic episodes. It took a few weeks to find the right dose, but once we did, it was a game-changer. I get some dizziness and hair loss, but overall, it's worth it. Be patient and work closely with your doc.
I wish my doc had warned me about the side effects. The worst was the weight gain, but overall, it’s definitely worth it. If you can handle the side effects, it’s really helped my episodes. Your doc should be able to offer a ton of help, just tell them everything you're experiencing.
Be careful with side effects. I notice I get super cold sometimes. As always -- talk to your doctor!
It's been a good experience for me as well, though I did have to deal with some weight gain. But the control over my bipolar episodes has been amazing. Stay on top of your appointments and talk to your doc if you've got any questions!
