Has anyone had success with Levetiracetam 1000mg Tablets for epilepsy? What side effects have you experienced?
I've recently been prescribed Levetiracetam 1000mg Tablets to manage my epilepsy. I've read about the possible side effects, but I'm still a bit worried. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? How have you managed any side effects, and what has been your overall experience with it? I'm particularly concerned about the more severe side effects and how to recognize them early, like any liver problems or serious skin reactions. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I've been lucky with Levetiracetam. I've only had minor side effects like drowsiness and headache. I've found that taking it with food helps with stomach issues. I've also noticed that stress can trigger seizures, so I try to keep things calm and relaxed. I keep a journal to track any side effects and changes in my mood, it helps me and my doctor make informed decisions about my treatment.
What do you do if you miss a dose?
I had suicidal thoughts while on Levetiracetam, so be careful and talk to your doctor if you feel any negative thoughts. It’s better to switch medications early than to deal with the psychological impact later.
My friend had to switch from Levetiracetam because it made them really dizzy all the time. They also had some trouble with their balance. Definitely worth discussing with your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.
I hope this works for you! It's always scary starting a new medication, but keeping open communication with your doctor is key. Best of luck!
I find it’s harder to get out of bed in the morning. Some days I feel like I could sleep all day. Any tips to get past the fatigue?
I had a lot of trouble with the side effects. Decreased appetite and trouble sleeping. And honestly, I'd like to hear from anyone who's managed these successfully.
