I've recently been prescribed Pioglitazone/metformin 15-850mg Tb to help manage my type 2 diabetes. I'm curious if anyone else has experience with this combination drug. How effective has it been for you, and what side effects have you encountered? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any long-term effects or unexpected benefits. Also, how do you manage any side effects like lactic acidosis or low blood sugar? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've been on it for over a year. I started getting bone pain and a bit of swelling, so I had to talk to my doctor. He adjusted the dosage, and it helped. So don't be afraid to communicate with your healthcare provider if you feel any discomfort.

If you're experiencing frequent urination and pain when passing urine, get to the ER. Very serious.

I've been on this for a year and a half, and it's been a lifesaver. My blood sugar levels have never been more stable. But watch out for common cold symptoms, I have to be careful as my immune system struggles.

I wish they'd warned me more about the weight gain. I've put on about 10 pounds since starting this medication. I tried being overly vigilant about diet but it happened anyway.

I got bad headaches when I started but it stopped after a couple weeks. Just talk to your doc if you have any issues.

Be careful with this med. My friend ended up with a severe allergic reaction after a few weeks, though it's rare. Her doctor had to switch it out for some other combo. So warning signs are redness and swelling of the face, lips, or tongue.

My doc told me to avoid alcohol completely due to the risk of liver problems. I've stuck to it and haven't had any issues.

I switched to this combo after years of struggling with high blood sugar. It's made a huge difference, but I did have to adjust my diet to avoid diarrhea. Just be patient and work closely with your doctor to find the right dosage and regimen. It's worth it!
