I was recently prescribed Provera 10mg Tablets to help regulate my menstrual periods. I've been dealing with secondary amenorrhea for a while now, and my doctor mentioned that Provera could help balance my hormones. I'm curious to hear from others who have used this medication. How effective was it for you? What side effects did you experience, if any? I've read about some of the possible side effects, such as weight gain, dizziness, and changes in mood, and I'm a bit nervous about them. Did anyone experience anything more severe like liver problems or blood clots which require immediate attention? Also, how long did it take for the medication to start working? I know everyone's experience is different, but any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I used Provera for a while and it helped with my periods, but I had to stop because of severe headaches. I haven't seen anyone else mention headache in this thread. Everyone's body reacts differently.

I had some weird vaginal discharge and itching when I first started Provera. It cleared up after a few weeks, but it was uncomfortable while it lasted. I had to switch to another medication though,

I'm on week 2 of this medication and so far, nothing bad. Just a bit of bloating. Just want to mention to be prepared for mood swings. It can be a bit unpredictable.

This might be a silly question, but can Provera cause hair loss? I've noticed some thinning recently, and I'm not sure if it's related.

I wish my doctor had warned me about the mood swings. I've never felt so emotional in my life. It's been tough, but my periods are finally regular, so there's that.

I was really nervous about the weight gain side effect, but I've actually lost a few pounds while on Provera. It's crazy how different everyone's experience can be.

I've been on Provera for about a year now. I didn't experience any major side effects except for a bit of drowsiness. I actually sleep better on it, though, so it's a trade-off I can live with.

I've had some really bad joint pain since starting Provera. It's made it hard to exercise, and the painkillers don’t help much. I wish I'd known about this side effect beforehand. Has anyone else had similar problems? Thank you for sharing your experience.

I've been on Provera for about six months now, and it's been a game-changer for me. My periods are much more regular, and the side effects have been minimal—just a bit of dizziness sometimes. It took about three months to see a significant difference, so stick with it if you don't see immediate results.

I had a completely different experience. My doctor warned me about possible breast tenderness and spotting, which I definitely got. But it was bearable, and my periods became so predictable after using this for a few months. I've never experienced any major side effects
