Has anyone had success with Urocit-K 540mg (5meq) Tablets for preventing kidney stones?
I've recently been prescribed Urocit-K 540mg (5meq) Tablets to help prevent kidney stones. The doctor explained that it makes my urine less acidic and increases citrate levels, which helps stop calcium from forming stones. I'm curious if anyone else has experience with this medication. How effective has it been for you? What kind of changes have you noticed in your health, and have you experienced any unusual side effects? I took this for a few months and then switched to something else because the side effects were too much for me to handle. Everyone's different, so keep an eye on how you feel.
The shell of the tablet in my stool freaked me out at first, but my doctor said it was normal. Just wanted to reassure anyone who might be worried about the same thing!
I've heard mixed things about this drug. Some people love it, some people hate it. Just wanted to say, don’t be too hard on yourself. If it doesn’t work or causes side effects, it’s okay to stop and find something else.
I experienced some pretty bad stomach pain at first, but my doctor adjusted the dosage, and now it's much better. Stick it out if you can—it's worth it.

I take this medication and I noticed a big improvement in my urinary tract health. Just be mindful of your diet and drink plenty of water, even if you hate it.
