Hey everyone, I'm new to this and was just prescribed Valsartan/HCTZ 160mg/12.5mg for high blood pressure. I'm a bit nervous about the possible side effects, especially the urgent ones. I've been on this for a while and it's been a lifesaver for my BP. Just make sure to stay hydrated and monitor your potassium levels.
I've had some trouble with light sensitivity and headaches but no big deal. I like it and it works for me.
Watch out for those electrolyte issues. I had some muscle cramps and weird sensations at night, but adjusting my diet helped a lot. Got to keep an eye on what you eat!
I really didn't like the nose or throat irritation. See if your doctor can do a lower dose on the hydrochlorothiazide. I'm trying to find something that works without that.
Hey, if you get any weird vision changes, don't mess around—get to a doctor ASAP. Better safe than sorry with your eyes.
I switched to this from Lisinopril and it's been a game-changer. Make sure you're getting enough potassium and magnesium in your diet, though.
