I've been prescribed Zonegran 100mg Capsules for migraine prevention, as I’ve had quite a few episodes in the last year. My neurologist mentioned it's often used off-label for this purpose. Anyone else have experience with it? Was it effective for you? I'm particularly concerned about the side effects and wondering how common they really are. Lots of scary warnings on the leaflet but unsure what to expect. I'll be honest, I'm a bit nervous but also eager to see if this will help. Thanks in advance for any insights!

Have you considered other options? I tried Zonegran and had some mild side effects that I just couldn't deal with. Now on something else and feeling much better.

Make sure you stay hydrated while taking Zonegran. Dehydration can exacerbate some of the side effects like dizziness and fatigue. Also, be cautious with heavy physical activity at first, as it can cause overheating. Try to avoid extreme temps while your body adjusts. Definitely talk to your doctor if you experience any of the more severe side effects, but don't be too alarmed if you do get minor ones. That's normal.

Be prepared for the potential weight loss. It's not for everyone, and I'm not a fan of feeling hungry all the time, but it might be worth it if it helps with migraines.

My sister had some serious kidney and liver problems after taking this. She had to stop immediately and switch to another medication. It was scary, so I'd keep an eye out for those symptoms and talk to your doctor about any concerns.

I've had a few kidney stones and noticed some back pain. I wasn’t sure if Zonegran was the cause, but my doctor warned me that it's a possibility. I'll be honest, I couldn't tell if it was med-related, but better to be cautious.

I'm on the fence about this one. My friend tried it and had severe side effects, so I'm a bit worried. But then again, everyone's body reacts differently to meds. Maybe give it a shot with a close eye on how you feel?

Just be careful with this one. Seriously. I got some nasty eye pain and redness and had to rush to the ER. It was scary but I'm okay now. Good luck to everyone on this.

I've been on Zonegran for a while now, and it's been a game-changer for my migraines. I had some initial side effects like dizziness and fatigue, but they went away after a few weeks. My neurologist warned me about potential serious side effects but I've not experienced any of them, fingers crossed! Would recommend giving it a try if your doctor thinks it's right for you.

I just started Zonegran for my epilepsy. I've had a few sleepless nights but nothing major. Just talk to your doctor if you have any concerns. They know best.
