I had a weird sensation in my fingers after taking Sumatriptan. It was like they were tingling and numb at the same time. I didn't think much of it until I read about the potential side effects. Now I'm worried. Should I be?
I stopped taking Sumatriptan after experiencing severe chest tightness. It was scary, and I'm glad I sought medical help right away. It turns out I had an allergic reaction, and it could have been much worse. If you experience any of the serious side effects, don't hesitate to go to the ER.
Another one I tried for migraines is rizatriptan. It has a longer half-life and sometimes works better for me. Sumatriptan works fast but it wears off quickly. It also doesn't come with serious side effects, for me at least. Might be worth a try for some of you.
I've had vomiting and flushing. It's not fun, but it's manageable. I just make sure to take it on an empty stomach and stay hydrated. Has anyone tried different brands or generic versions? I wonder if they have the same side effects.
