Palforzia is a new medication that's supposed to help reduce the severity of allergic reactions if my child accidentally eats peanuts. I've been reading about Palforzia, and while it sounds promising, I'm also nervous about the side effects. Since it's not a cure, we'd still need to be super careful about what they eat and always carry an EpiPen. I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with Palforzia. Did you notice any improvements? What were the side effects like? Were they worth it? Also curious about the process of getting prescribed and taking it. Was it hard to get approved for insurance? My kid is 6, so I especially would like to hear from other parents who have had a similar experience.

Did anyone experience any serious side effects? I heard it can cause serious stuff like trouble breathing or chest pain.

Tbh, the worst part of Palforzia is the constant worry. My kid has stomach issues on a good day. It's a lot to manage on top of the allergies.

My kiddo has been doing Palforzia for a few months now, and we haven't had any serious issues. We had to go through a few rounds of testing before we could start, but the allergist was great. He walked us through the whole process. It's been worth it. Any other medication with this kind of potential should be worth it to most parents.

People have strong opinions about oral immunotherapy. I heard it gets better with time. Our kid has had it easy so far, but some folks have a rough time.

Caution: always be ready with an EpiPen! I let my guard down one time, and my child ended up in the ER. Also, it’s important to check with your allergists since allergy severity can change.

Hey, parents of kids with multiple allergies: Are there any other treatments worth looking into? It's so hard to keep track of everything!

I'm just surprised more people aren't talking about this. As a parent of a kid with severe allergies, I'd do anything to reduce the risk of anaphylaxis. I've heard some negative stuff about Palforzia, but mostly good things. I’m waiting for more clinical studies to come out. I'm hoping more people will post here so I can make a better-informed decision.

Does anyone know if Palforzia can be used for other nut allergies? My child is allergic to both peanuts and tree nuts.

I've been considering Palforzia, but the side effects really worry me. I've read stuff about people having severe reactions and even ending up in the ER. Is that common?
