I've been prescribed Heparin Sod 5000u/ml Prefilled Syr to prevent blood clots after a recent surgery. I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else used this medication? What was your experience like? Did you encounter any issues, and if so, how did you handle them? I'm trying to gather as much information as possible to feel more prepared. Also, any tips on administering the injections would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.

I've been on heparin for a while now. The injections are a bit tricky at first, but you get the hang of it. Just make sure to rotate injection sites to avoid any skin irritation.

My mother had to use this after a surgery too, and she hated it. She was terrified of intramuscular injections, but her doctor explained the process really well and she got the hang of it.

You'll be fine! Just keep an eye out for any weird symptoms. I recommend keeping a journal of any side effects.

I've never used the prefilled syringe version, but the regular one was a pain to handle. Make sure you're careful with the dosage. Can't imagine getting too much or too little would be good.

I had a horrible reaction to heparin once. It was terrifying. I had trouble breathing and my face swelled up like a balloon. Definitely call a doctor right away if you notice anything like that.

Feeling weak on one side of the body or having trouble speaking can be signs of a stroke. The presentation isn't specific to heparin, but it's still scary.
