I was recently prescribed Verelan 120mg SR Capsules to manage my chest pain and irregular heartbeat. Verapamil is a calcium channel blocker designed to relax blood vessels and slow down the heart rate, which can help lower blood pressure and reduce chest pain (angina). My doctor prescribed this after some tests and told me that it will help with my irregular heart rhythms. I am curious to know if anyone has had success with this medication and what their experience has been like. I am aware of the potential side effects, including some serious ones like allergic reactions and liver problems, so I will keep an eye out for those. I am also wondering if anyone has had trouble with more common side effects like dizziness, headaches, or constipation. Any tips on managing these would be appreciated. I plan to regularly monitor my symptoms and check in with my doctor as needed, but I'm interested in hearing from others who have gone through this.

Cheers to Verelan for getting rid of my chest pain. I'm so happy to be able to do normal activities again without worry. Just remember to keep your doctor updated on everything.

I've been on Verelan for about a year now, and it's made a huge difference in managing my angina. I had some dizziness at first, but it went away after a few weeks. Make sure to talk to your doctor about any side effects you experience, especially if it's persistent.

I'm on day 3 and feeling pretty good, just a bit of dizziness when I go from sitting to standing too fast. Is this a common experience, or could it be a sign of something else going on? I'd appreciate some reassurance.

Curious if anyone has experienced weight gain as a side effect?

I've had some good experiences with Verelan, but I have to admit, the constipation can be tough. I've found that increasing my fiber intake and drinking more water helps a lot. Moving around and regular exercise does wonders too.

Verelan has been a lifesaver for me. I used to have episodes where my heart would feel like it was skipping beats, but that's been minimal since starting this medication. Just make sure to take it on an empty stomach, it worked much better for me that way.

I started with a lower dose and worked my way up to 120mg. That helped a lot with the side effects, especially the initial dizziness and headaches.

I've never tried Verelan, but my friend did, and it worked great for her. Just be careful with grapefruit juice - it can interact with the medication.
