I've recently been prescribed Nitro-Dur 0.3mg/hr patches for my angina, and while the idea of a transdermal patch releasing medication over time sounds convenient, I'm nervous about the potential side effects listed. I've heard stories about severe reactions like allergic skin rashes and dizziness, but I've also heard that for many, the benefits greatly outweigh the risks. Has anyone here used this patch and can share their experience? How have you managed side effects like dizziness and headaches? Any tips for a smoother transition to this medication would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've heard good things about the patch. Honestly, I think the most annoying part so far is remembering to change it every day. I set a reminder on my phone, and it's been helping a lot.

Great thread! I've seen a lot of interest and support here, and hopefully, it will help you have a smoother experience with this medication.

I've been on these patches for about 6 months now. The dizziness was bad at first, but it subsided after a couple of weeks. My doctor recommended taking it slow and making sure I was sitting down when applying a new patch. Skin irritation can be an issue, but switching to a different brand of transdermal patches helped a lot. I'd say it has done wonders for my angina though.

The medical community talks a great deal about these patches, and it's important to remember that while side effects can be scary, the medication is generally safe and effective when used as prescribed. Regular check-ins with your doctor can help manage side effects and monitor your progress. Stick with it and communicate openly with your healthcare provider.

I tried it, wasn't for me. The headaches were unbearable, and it felt like I was always on the verge of passing out. My doctor switched me to a different medication, and I've been much better since. Just goes to show that everyone reacts differently to meds.
