Has anyone taken Amantadine 100mg for Parkinson's? What was your experience like?
I've been prescribed Amantadine 100mg tablets for my Parkinson's symptoms, specifically for stiffness and tremors. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the more serious ones like hallucinations and seizures. Has anyone here taken this medication? What were your experiences? Did you encounter any of the severe side effects, and if so, how did you manage them? I'd love to hear from anyone who has gone through this. Also, did anyone notice any improvements in their symptoms?
And is it true that it can also be used for flu, I am wondering if it is possible to prescribe it for that reason and if there are any side effects specific to that use case.

I've taken it for the flu. Helped a lot but it was a massive pain dealing with the dry mouth. Water , water and more water. And yes, it helped with my symptoms.
I've seen Amantadine help a lot of my patients with Parkinson's. Just monitor your symptoms closely and report any changes to your doctor.
I've been on Amantadine for a couple of months now, and it's been a lifesaver for my tremors. I did have some vivid dreams at first, but they went away after a week. No serious side effects here. Stick with it, and hopefully, it helps you as much as it's helped me.
Side effects are different for everyone. Stick with it, but if you have any serious reactions, stop taking it immediately and call your doctor. Amantadine might be good for Parkinson's but I'm not convinced about the flu.
I've heard horror stories about Amantadine side effects, but I think it's worth a try if your doctor recommends it. Just be aware and take it seriously. Don't miss a dose or take more than prescribed. And if the flu comes - just know it can be used for that too!
I took it for a while, but the side effects were too much for me. I started having hallucinations and it was scary. I had to stop taking it. Definitely talk to your doctor about any concerns you have.
I took it for Parkinson's and it was great until I started hallucinating. It was so scary. But yeah it worked wonders for the symptoms, I know I can trust it now that I am aware of the side effects.
I'm scared of taking it because of the risk of seizures. That's a deal-breaker for me. But if you're okay with the risk, it might be worth it for the symptom relief. Good luck!
My grandma was on Amantadine for her Parkinson's. It helped with her muscle spasms, but she had some dizziness. Just make sure to take it exactly as prescribed and don't drive or operate machinery if you feel dizzy. And yeah, it can be used for flu, I remember she told me about it.
I had no idea Amantadine was used for flu. Why isn't this more widely known? I've heard its great for both the flu and Parkinson's. I guess I will use it if I get the flu again, but no idea about the side effects here
