Has anyone taken Amitriptyline 50mg Tablets for nerve pain? What was your experience? Was it effective and did you experience any side effects? I've heard mixed things about it and I'm really on the fence about trying it. I have to make some sort of decision soon so I'd appreciate any insight you can offer. What did it do for you, if anything?

I think it's worth a shot if nothing else has worked. Just make sure to start low and go slow. Your doc should probably tell you that, but I've had people say they started too high and fast and had a rough time. What's your dose, OP?

Amitriptyline 50mg worked great for me too. It's actually a low dose compared to what you can take. I've seen some people on here mention 150mg.

Amitriptyline helped me with my migraines, but gave me nightmares when and made me gain a ton of weight, so I had to switch to another med. Pain relief for me was just not worth the side effects.

I've heard Amitriptyline can cause weight gain. Has anyone experienced this? I'm already struggling with my weight and I don't want to gain more.

I've been on Amitriptyline for 6 months now and it's been a game-changer for my nerve pain. Started with 50mg and it helped immediately. I did experience some side effects initially like dry mouth and dizziness, but they went away after a few weeks. My Dr. also told me it can take up to 3 weeks to start seeing results and that held true for me. Would recommend talking to your Dr. about it.

This medication changed my life. It may have a lot of side effects, but for me, the benefits far outweigh the side effects. I could tell that it was working within the first week, but my Doctor said it could take longer. I'm just happy to be pain free and sleep through the night. I would definitely recommend it, but I would also recommend talking to your doctor first.
