I'm scheduled for surgery in a few weeks and my doctor prescribed Aprepitant 40mg Capsules to prevent nausea and vomiting. I've never taken this medication before and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else taken this drug? If so, how was your experience? Did you encounter any of the side effects mentioned? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I never took this, but my neighbor did. She said she didn't like the feeling of nausea and getting her appetite back was the best part.

I didn't have any issues with it. But I read somewhere that it can cause dehydration. Make sure to drink plenty of water.

I heard it can cause constipation. If you are prone to it, make sure to take some laxatives or fiber supplements. I would also suggest drinking plenty of water to help with dehydration.

I'm not sure how everyone else feels, but I think the side effects are worth it if it means avoiding nausea. I've had surgery before and the nausea was way worse than any side effects.

I was so lucky! No side effects at all. Just make sure to follow your doctor's instructions to the letter.

I had to stop taking it because I started to get a rash. Went to the ER and they told me it was an allergic reaction. If you start to feel itchy or see any signs of a rash, get medical help right away.

One of my friends took this before surgery and she ended up with a really bad headache. She had to skip a few doses until the pain went away. And she mentioned in the meantime, she was on medication to battle the pain. Personally, I think it's worth it to avoid feeling nauseous after surgery.

Feeling dizziness is a common side effect of a lot of medications. You should also check in with your doctor, maybe they can prescribe you something to help with that. I would also suggest staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

I took Aprepitant before my surgery and it worked like a charm. No nausea at all, but I did feel a bit dizzy the first day.
