Has anyone taken Benzonatate 200mg Capsules? What were the side effects?
I've been prescribed Benzonatate 200mg Capsules for a persistent cough, and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. I had to take these for a bad case of bronchitis. They worked like a charm for my cough, but I did experience some pretty serious numbness in my mouth and throat. I had to stop eating for a few hours each time I took them, so it was a bit inconvenient.
These capsules are a different beast compared to other cough medications. I did experience some hallucinations, but they were mild and felt like a bad dream. I had to stop taking them because of it, though. Maybe they could work with a lower dose for some people?
Did anyone else feel like they had a stuffy nose after taking these? I was using my nasal spray way too much.
I was nervous about these too, but they did the job! I was able to sleep through the night without coughing fits, and the side effects (mostly drowsiness) were manageable.
I've taken these before and found them to be quite effective. No serious side effects for me, but I did feel a bit drowsy afterwards.
Definitely read the instructions carefully and don't break, crush, or chew the pills. I made that mistake once and ended up with a weird tingling sensation in my mouth that lasted for hours.
