I've recently been prescribed Carafate 1gm/10ml Suspension for an ulcer, and I'm curious to hear from others who have taken this medication. How effective was it for you? Did you experience any of the side effects listed, such as constipation or signs of high blood sugar? I got high blood sugar from this and had to go to the hospital. Doctors told me this is rare but it happened. Be careful, guys!
Carafate worked for me but I had to be really careful about taking it with other meds. Make sure to talk to your doctor about any interactions.
I've never heard of that one. I'm on omeprazole and it just works fine. Why not just stick with that?
I didn't notice any improvement after a couple of weeks. My doctor switched me to something else and I felt better right away. There's no shame in switching if it's not working for you!
I'm on my third month and so far, so good. I haven't had any issues with it. I would recommend.
It's pretty gross tasting but I got used to it. Make sure to mix it with something if you can't stomach it.
I had a terrible allergic reaction to it. I could barely breathe and had to go to the ER. Scary stuff.
